Sunday’s gospel talks about the rich man who had everything and kneels before Christ asking what must he do to inherit eternal life. Christ responds, follow the commandments and the rich man says, I have kept them from my youth. Then Christ says, sell what you have and give the money to the poor and you will have treasures in heaven. The rich man goes away grieving as he had much.
So the question is what stands in your way in following what Christ asked of the rich man? Christ isn’t asking us to give up all we have…just that thing that stands between you and Him. That thing that keeps you from being all He wants you to be.
He wants to be first in your life.
We are invited to follow Him.
To enjoy His Presence.
To be taught along the way by the Word and the Spirit.
He offers us an abundant joy-filled life. A free life. Will you accept His offer?
Are you willing to lay aside whatever it is that stands between you and Him? Are you willing today?
